The Boston Bruins returned to practice on Monday (Nov. 11), and head coach Jim Montgomery went with some new forward line combinations.
Interestingly, Matthew Poitras skated as the Bruins’ extra forward during their latest practice. Because of this, it seems likely that No. 51 will be a healthy scratch for their upcoming matchup against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday (Nov. 12).
Poitras, 20, has hit a bit of a rough patch of late. Over his last seven games, the 2022 second-round pick has just one goal. He also has had a quiet start to the campaign in general, posting one goal, three assists, and a minus-4 rating in 14 games.
It will be interesting to see if Poitras is omitted from the lineup against the Blues, but based on the Bruins’ latest practice, the possibility is undoubtedly there.
