Interest in Jobe Bellingham has certainly heated up in the past week. Arsenal and Crystal Palace seem to be the two sides most keen right now, though interest from Europe still lingers.
It seems like half of Europe have Jobe Bellingham on their radar right now. And after an impressive first half of the 2024/25 Championship season with four goals and three assists in 23 games, it’s not surprising.
At first, it was Real Madrid being linked with Bellingham. Since then, a number of top European teams have shown an interest in the 19-year-old, who’s reportedly valued at £20 million by the Sunderland owners.
The latest is that Arsenal and Crystal Palace are weighing up bids for Bellingham. It’s also claimed that Bellingham and Sunderland have an agreement in place for the England U21s man to leave in January, should a suitable Premier League offer come along.
Another team linked with Bellingham this season is Borussia Dortmund. The German giants signed Jobe’s older brother Jude Bellingham in the summer of 2020.

It appears as though Dortmund are still keen on Bellingham, with a report from German outlet BILD stating that Dortmund and the Bellingham family remain in contact, albeit sporadically’.
Dortmund retains the belief that Jobe Bellingham could have a similar trajectory to Jude Bellingham. But BILD states that Dortmund ‘will probably not have enough money to complete the deal and will prioritize other positions’ in January, suggesting a summer move for Bellingham is more likely.
Sunderland previously paid Birmingham City £3 million for Bellingham in the summer of 2023. He’s since made 70 total appearances for the Black Cats, scoring 11 goals and claiming four assists.
Mikel Arteta reveals Arsenal’s January transfer stance
With Dortmund seemingly out of the Bellingham race until the summer and the likes of Real Madrid having not been mentioned in a while, it could leave Arsenal and Palace battling it out to sign the Sunderland star.
Speaking recently, Mikel Arteta revealed Arsenal’s transfer plans for January, playing down any major changes but also leaving the door open to new signings.
He explained: “I really like my players and I believe in what we have, as there’s a lot of quality and commitment. Let’s see. If there’s an opportunity, we will look at it.”
It could all boil down to this £20 million asking price though and whoever pays it first. With an agreement for Bellingham to leave for a Premier League club at the asking price, it’s down to the likes of Arsenal and Palace to actually table a bid.
