The Cleveland Browns are entering an offseason filled with uncertainty, with one of the biggest questions being who will take over at quarterback after Deshaun Watson tore his Achilles and is expected to miss “significant time” of next season.
Additionally, the team is facing the challenge of star pass rusher Myles Garrett requesting a trade. Despite this, the Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick, presenting a prime opportunity to select a cornerstone piece to build around for the future.
While some believe the Browns will draft a quarterback, others think they could target players like Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter, possibly selecting a QB later in the draft or pursuing a more experienced option in free agency.
With the NFL combine in full swing and quarterbacks holding media interviews on Friday, the Browns made an unexpected three-word post about Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, the projected top two quarterbacks off the board.
“Bright futures ahead.” Browns posted with photos of Ward and Sanders.
The post grabbed the attention of fans as they speculated the Browns decided to post this when they have quarterbacks under contract.
“interesting post.” DraftKings posted.
“Now why would they post this?” A fan said.
“Cleveland is not even trying to hide it.” Another fan added.
One more fan said, “Why are you posting this with 3 QBs under contract still? Lmao.”
Neither quarterback is expected to participate in the on-field workouts or quarterback drills on Saturday. Both are scheduled to appear at their respective pro days in the coming weeks, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their skills on their own terms.
