It has not been a fun year for the Boston Bruins, and their Tuesday night (Nov. 26) matchup against the Vancouver Canucks is only the latest example of that. They were shut out by the Canucks even after recording 32 shots on goal. While they created plenty of chances, they just could not solve Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen.
The Bruins had a lot of control during the third period, too, as they finished it with 10 shots on goal. However, their trend of not scoring in the third period at TD Garden continued.
According to the NHL Network, the Bruins currently have the fewest amount of third-period goals at home in the NHL this season with only one. That goal came during the Bruins’ home opener against the Montreal Canadiens, so it has been a long time since the Bruins have put the puck in the net in the third period at TD Garden.
The Bruins’ third-period struggles at home are one of the many reasons for their underwhelming 10-10-3 record this season. We will need to wait and see if they can heat back up from here, but this stat is an ugly one right now.
