The Boston Bruins have plenty of cap space to work with this offseason. Because of this, there is a real expectation that they are in for a busy summer. Two of their biggest needs are a top-six center and a top-six scoring winger. Because of this, they have been connected to several players already.
According to The Fourth Period’s latest Trade Watch List, the Bruins are one of the several clubs currently linked to Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras. The other teams in the mix include the Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, Nashville Predators, and Chicago Blackhawks.
Hearing that the Bruins are one of the clubs targeting Zegras is not particularly surprising. He’s a young star who can play both down the middle and on the wing. Because of this, he could fill either one of their top needs.
Zegras could work beautifully playing on a line with Bruins superstar forward David Pastrnak. The 23-year-old is an impactful playmaker when playing at his best, and that could greatly benefit Pastrnak. In addition, Zegras would, of course, be a clear option for their first power-play unit.
