According to NHL.com’s Mark Divver, Tyler Pitlick has been invited to the Providence Bruins’ training camp roster.
Pitlick, 32, is certainly an interesting player to see get invited to Providence’s training camp. The 6-foot-2 forward has 10 years of NHL experience, where he has played for the Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers.
Pitlick spent this past season with the Rangers, posting one goal, four points, 84 hits, and a minus-6 rating in 34 games. He also appeared in 22 games with the Rangers’ AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, recording three goals and four helpers.
Pitlick has 420 career games of NHL experience, where he has 56 goals, 53 assists, 109 points, and 836 hits.
Overall, there is no harm in Providence having a veteran like Pitlick participate in their training camp. If he performs well, perhaps it could open the door for him to earn an AHL deal for the season from them.
