The Boston Bruins are back on the ice tonight to square off against the Edmonton Oilers. They will look to secure a much-needed win after losing each of their last four games.
At the Bruins’ morning skate, the club made some serious changes to their defense pairings.
Charlie McAvoy had a new partner, as Parker Wotherspoon was moved up to the top pairing. Wotherspoon spent the last game on the second pairing with Brandon Carlo.
Wotherspoon, 27, has appeared in 20 games this season with the Bruins, where he has one assist, 26 blocks, 28 hits, and a minus-1 rating. Now, if these morning skate lines are used against the Oilers, Wotherspoon will have a lot of responsibility in a big role.
Wotherspoon’s moveto the first pairing was not the only notable change mo the Bruins’ defense. Nikita Zadorov was also dropped to the second pairing ,with Carlo as his partner.
Zadorov has spent a lot of this season with different defensive partners, and now he is likely to be with Carlo against the Oilers. In 42 games this season, he has two goals, 10 points, 76 penalty minutes, and 108 hits.
