Several Boston sports teams repped black and gold last weekend during the Bruins’ Centennial Game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Celtics guard Derrick White took it one step further. Even though White was sidelined last Sunday during the Celtics’ road game against the Cavaliers, he showed up at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse wearing a David Pastrnak sweater.
He committed to the bit, even wearing it along the Celtics’ bench throughout Boston’s eventual 115-111 loss to Cleveland.
Pastrnak returned the favor ahead of Saturday’s matinee matchup against the Flyers, wearing a Derrick White City Edition jersey as he arrived at TD Garden.
It was a welcome showing of solidarity from the two teams that play on Causeway Street.
Pastrnak was on hand to cheer on the Celtics’ Game 2 win over the Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals, with the Bruins winger sharing a fist bump with White after the 105-98 win at TD Garden.
