Fortunately for Los Angeles, the team took advantage of being overlooked in the NFC in 2023, as head coach Sean McVay rallied his team to an impressive 10-7 finish while also seeing another potential superstar emerge at the wide receiver position in Puka Nacua.
Although the Rams had done an exceptional job of bouncing back from a five-win season, Los Angeles fell short of taking down the team’s former No. 1 overall pick, Jared Goff, and the upstart Detroit Lions in the NFL playoffs.
Despite being unable to make much of an impact in the postseason, McVay is grateful for the way things turned out last season, as he believes the 2022 campaign exposed him, and he was able to learn from that to finish with five more wins in 2023 via the Green Light with Chris Long.
“2022 really exposed me,” McVay said. “I was exposed in terms of some of my shortcomings and my insecurities. I had to really address that.”

Although McVay learned from his mistakes and corrected some of his shortcomings from a coaching perspective, the Rams will have to deal with the loss of superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who chose to retire after last season.
Things won’t get any easier for McVay and company while sharing the NFC West division with the 49ers and trying to make the best of Matthew Stafford’s remaining time as the starting quarterback in Los Angeles.
