According to Championship pundits Benjamin Bloom and Sam Parkin, Jobe Bellingham is set for greatness. With a third of the championship campaign gone, Sunderland are leading the way, and Bellingham has played a big part in that.
The Black Cats have many stars being talked about in glowing terms, not least Bellingham and Chris Rigg, who have already alerted Premier League clubs and those in Europe with their outstanding displays.
When looking at every Championship club and deciding which player they would sign, Bloom and Parkin, at The Championship Check-In, singled out Bellingham in particular.
“I love his composure and maturity, and he just looks like the complete footballer already,” Parkin said. “Even the mentality of his brother [Jude], I think you’ve got to throw in; there’s just something incredible about them, the way they carry themselves on and off the pitch.
“I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t grow to be a seriously top player. I think Bellingham just looks like a leader already. He must be costing an arm and a leg when the time comes.”
Bloom commented on the fact Sunderland have a very young squad but said he is impressed with how those “players have stepped up” and suggested Bellingham would now be “worth a small fortune.”
The 19-year-old stepped up for the England U21s during this international break and appears to be on track to follow in his brother Jude’s footsteps. He is suspended for Sunderland’s next game, at Millwall, on Saturday.
