The ongoing contract saga between the Cincinnati Bengals and franchise-tagged wideout Tee Higgins got a big boost this week at OTAs.
While Higgins was missing OTAs and has yet to sign that franchise tag, he posted a cryptic message on social media. Another interview of his (seemingly shot a while back) published and featured him stressing he wants to stay with the Bengals long-term.
And to top it all off, the wideout market got even more expensive thanks to an extension signed by another AFC weapon.
With so much sudden intrigue around Higgins, here’s a look at how fans are handling it all.
Stat that sounds made up but is 100% true:
Tee Higgins *best* career stat line is:
74-1091-6

After a rough 2023, it’s easy to forget just how good Tee Higgins really is…
But this was an INSANE play by Higgins last year 👀🔥

Waddle has played 66 more snaps than Higgins the past two years. They don't care that he misses time.
Also don't really get why Cincy is pinching pennies. They currently have 23 million dollars in unused cap space. They can pay Tee.

Seems like you are speculating

lol what are we doing here? he has two options:
1. Play out this season on the franchise tag and move on next year
2. Dont play football this season and dont get paid https://t.co/KPRdRZrkno

The time for Tee Higgins to even consider a deal like Waddle or D. Smith got would've been last off-season. He's too close to hitting pay dirt now.

Really unfortunate that Tee Higgins had the worst season of his career but that’s not Cincinnati’s fault. That combined with 5 hamstring injuries in 5 years, career lows & already having a WR1 makes things tricky. Don’t act like this is some “no brainer” Cincy should sign up for.

Here's what I see as the reality for Tee Higgins:
– The Bengals aren't willing to pay his current price tag
– If/when he hits free agency, he's going to get millions more than his current price tagThere's a big pay day coming for Tee Higgins one way or another.

Tee Higgins (33rd) was paired with Joe Burrow (1st) in the 2020 NFL Draft
Burrow tore his ACL and Bengals (4-11-1) earned the 5th pick in 2021
They drafted Ja’Marr Chase
Higgins is very good, not selfish, but a victim of circumstance
This holdout has been years in the making https://t.co/gvipidZmct
