The Boston Bruins suffered deflating losses to the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers over their last two games. Both losses were caused by the Bruins not playing a full 60 minutes. They must try to turn things around against the Florida Panthers tomorrow night (March 24).
However, the Bruins’ bad habits over the last few games carried over to today’s practice, and head coach Jim Montgomery made it clear that he was angry about it. After a bad drill at the beginning of practice, the Bruins bench boss made the club do a bag skate.
Following practice, Montgomery spoke with reporters and expressed frustration about the team’s recent play. Here’s what he had to say: “I hated the way we finished the game in Philly…and then we weren’t prepared to practice today. That’s why. Those things coupled together…I take responsibility for it. There’s got to be some responsibility on the players too.”
Understandably, Montgomery has given the Bruins this wake-up call, as their play has not been good enough lately. The hope is that this will provide the Bruins’ players with the boosts they need to turn things around.
